1. How to Create a Floral Typography Cover in Photoshop
Step 1
Open the bouquet flowers image in Photoshop. Go to Select > Subject. Now the bouquet should be selected and not the background. Add a layer mask to this layer.

Step 2
Command-click inside the layer mask to select it. Create a new layer and fill this layer with #c37428
. Change this layer to Multiply and set the Opacity to 82%. Next, apply a Gaussian Blur with a Radius of 37 pixels. Move this orange shadow down about 50 px.

Step 3
Change the document color mode to CMYK. Go to Image > Mode > CMYK Color. Select Don't Merge. Grab the Ellipse Tool (U) and make a circle that has a diameter of 1,563 px. Fill this circle with the color #34411a
.

Step 4
Install the Brack Out font and type out your business name. For this example, I'm using "AJ's Garden". Use these settings:
- AJ's: 791 pt,
#ffffff
- Garden: 395 pt,
#ffffff
Create a layer mask on your text layers and use the Brush Tool (B). Use a 25 px soft brush. Mask out parts of the text to reveal the flowers beneath.

Step 5
Create a new layer above the text layer and use a 100 px soft brush using the color #767676
. Create a clipping mask by selecting the shadow layer and right-clicking > Create Clipping Mask.

Step 6
Open the stained glass icon AI file in Illustrator. Select the middle flower icon and change the color to #ffffff
. Copy (Command-C) and paste (Command-V) this icon into the Photoshop bouquet file and apply a layer mask and add grey shadows to the flower.

Step 7
Change the Resolution to 300, go to Image > Image Size, and make sure Resample is unchecked. Save this file as a TIFF. For this florist catalogue tutorial, name it Bouquet_Cover.tif. Use these settings:
- Image Compression: None
- Save Transparency: Check this box

2. How to Format a Flower Shop Catalogue in InDesign
Step 1
Create a new document in InDesign. Make an 11 x 8.5 in document with 2 Pages, 0.5 Margins, and a 0.125 in bleed on each side.

Step 2
Make sure your rulers are showing by going to View > Show Rulers. Drag your cursor from the left ruler to the middle of your document. Drag the guide to the 5.5 in marker. Do this to the second page as well.

Step 3
Using the Rectangle Tool (M), cover the background on the first page with an orange swatch C0 M30 Y99 K0.

Step 4
Copy (Command-C) and paste (Command-V) the flower icon from Illustrator that we used earlier (center icon). Change the color to the orange swatch and the Tint to 80%.

Step 5
Place the Bouquet_Cover.tif file that we saved earlier by going to File > Place on the cover.

Step 6
Using the Type Tool (T), create a text frame and type your subhead text. Use these settings:
- Luxury Florist: Ezra Black, 14 pt, Paper swatch
- Serving the Community Since 1985: Ezra Medium italic, 12 pt, Paper swatch

Step 7
Move over to the back cover of our brochure design for a flower shop, and let's add a short description about the company using Ezra Regular, 10 pt, and create a new green swatch (C83, M31, Y69, K22).

Step 8
Create two more text boxes and add the "contact us" text. Use these settings:
- Contact Us: Ezra Black, 18 pt, Paper swatch
- Address: Ezra Black, 12 pt, Green swatch
- Hours of Operation: Ezra Regular, 10 pt, Green swatch
- Deliver: Ezra Black, 18 pt, Paper swatch

Step 9
Add the logo and website address at the bottom of the back cover.

Step 10
Use the Rectangle Tool (M) and create two rectangles, one green and the other orange, on the inside of the brochure.

Step 11
Create another rectangle using the orange swatch with a 36% Tint. Apply a Gradient Feather Effect by going to Object > Effects > Gradient Feather.

Step 12
Use the Ellipse Tool (L) and create a 3 in circle that overlaps the green rectangle and orange gradient rectangle. Apply a Text Wrap of 0.0625 in.

Step 13
Make another circle using the Ellipse Tool (L) and fill this circle with None. Select the Type on a Path Tool (Shift-T) and hover over the circle until you see a small plus sign on your cursor. Type the "About AJ" text using Brack Out 53 pt.

Step 14
Create two text boxes and type the "About the Owner" text and the quote. Copy (Command-C) and paste (Command-V) the flower icon and change the color of it to orange. Add two 1 pt stroke dividing lines on either side of the flower icon using the Pen Tool (P). Use these settings for the text:
- About the owner: Ezra Regular, 10 pt, Paper swatch
- Quote: Brack Out 32 pt, Paper swatch

Step 15
Now let's add some testimonials to our flower brochure design. Use the Type Tool (T) and type the "Reviews" header and comments. Use these settings:
- Reviews: Ezra Black, 18 pt, Green swatch
- Comments: Ezra Italic, 10 pt, Black 80% Tint
- Names: Brack Out, 12 pt, Green swatch

Step 16
Using the Type Tool (T) add the "Design your ideal bouquet" header and subhead text at the top of the right side of the page.

Step 17
Type the "Pick your garden" text and create two more text boxes with information about the flower. Highlight the price and Option-click the Underline icon in the top toolbar and change the Weight to 13 pt, Offset -3.5pt, and use the Paper swatch.

Step 18
Repeat the previous steps by adding the names of the flowers, a short description, and the price of the flowers.

3. How to Place Photos Inside Shapes in InDesign
Step 1
Download and open the Red Hibiscus PNG file in Photoshop and change the color mode to CMYK by going to Image > Mode > CMYK Color. Save this file as a TIFF. In InDesign, File > Place the red hibiscus file.

Step 2
Download and open the rest of the flowers in Photoshop. Change the color mode to CMYK and save them as TIFF files. Place them in InDesign, as we did with the red hibiscus file.

Step 3
Open the Cheerful young man making bouquets in flower shop image in Photoshop. Change the color mode to CMYK. Save this file as a TIFF. Select the circle in InDesign and File > Place this image.

Step 4
Copy (Command-C) a petal from the flower icon on the cover and paste (Command-V) it several times in different places on the outside and inside of our flower brochure design.

Step 5
Open the Happy young man holding blooming bouquet in flower shop and Flower shop with different varieties images in Photoshop. Change the color mode to CMYK and save the files as TIFF. Select each petal and File > Place the images.

Step 6
Repeat the previous steps by opening the remaining images in Photoshop, changing the color mode to CMYK and saving them as TIFFs. Place these images in InDesign.
