I want to introduce another project we’ll build in the Bootcamp.
One of the projects of the 2022 Full-Stack Web Development Bootcamp (signups open March 29, bootcamp starts on April 04) is a DIGITAL DOWNLOADS PLATFORM application.
Have you ever purchased a digital product online?
Maybe from Gumroad, or Etsy, or on any service that people usually use for this kind of job.
Well, in this project we’ll create a digital downloads platform.
Say you create ebooks (or anything else that’s digital like themes or plugins), and you want to sell them.
You, as a user, can signup and you’ll find a private area to upload and add all the details about the digital products.
Then we’ll build a frontend-facing area where we’ll handle purchases using Stripe and we’ll let people download the files they purchased.
Some files can be uploaded freely and people just have to login to download them.
Each product will have a title, a price, a thumbnail image:
We’ll have a dashboard for the author to see their earnings, and see who purchased the products. And of course we’ll let people change the details of the products they put up for sale.
This is a fun project to make, as it’s a two-sided marketplace. We have to think 2 different experiences.
And it’s a project that you can easily expand upon, and I’ll offer some interesting expansion opportunities.
For example with sales data you can spend some time to integrate a chart that shows the last 30 days sales.
And it can be the start of a profitable business for yourself too, if you happen to notice a market that might need a service like this but is underserved.
As with all the bootcamp projects, you’ll have the final source code of the project available and you can freely use that in your portfolio or as the base for your projects.
