- How to draw a bull the easy way
- How to draw a bull's head step by step
- How to turn a bull sketch into a bull logo
- How to create a bull design for any purpose
1. How to Draw a Bull's Torso
We're going to create a full bull drawing, but if you're more interested in how to draw a bull's head (more suitable for a bull icon or a bull logo), skip to Section 2.
Also, remember to draw very lightly at first to create this bull sketch. This way, you'll be able to erase it or cover it with the final lines later.
Step 1
Draw a circle in the area where you want the shoulder to be.

Step 2
Add a narrow oval on top, slightly shorter than the circle. This will define the volume of the whole shoulder.

Step 3
Draw a long line around a quarter of the way down the first circle.

Step 4
Add a big circle along that line, slightly bigger than the first one, and not far away from it. This will be the hip area.

Step 5
Connect the shoulder and the hips with two slanted lines. Big forequarters and a sloping back are characteristic of the popular, exaggerated silhouette of a bull.

Step 6
To give the shoulder area the correct shape, add two slanted ovals—one on top, attached to the right side (this will be the shoulder blade), and a smaller one on the bottom, attached to the left side (this will be the breast).

2. How to Draw a Bull's Head: The Structure
Step 1
Add a narrow oval on the left, at a similar distance from the shoulder as the hips are. This will be the head.

Step 2
Bulls have very wide, strong necks. You can easily add a neck to your drawing by adding two sloping lines between the head and the shoulders.

Step 3
Attach a small oval to the head to create the muzzle.

If you want to continue drawing a bull's head, skip to Section 4.
3. How to Draw a Bull's Legs
Step 1
Add the ground under the bull's body. It should be pretty small, slightly shorter than the width of the first circle.

Step 2
If you don't want to create just any bull drawing, but a bull logo specifically, you need to make sure all the lines in it flow nicely. So before drawing the legs, plan their curve, like this:

Step 3
Now sketch the basic position of the legs following this curve.

Step 4
Add the joints to both legs, leaving a lot of space for the hooves.

Step 5
Outline the joints to create the contour of the legs, and add two simple domes for the hooves.

Step 6
Connect the legs to the torso to finish their contours.

Step 7
Now create the other two legs with the same method. Draw the curves to make sure the pose has a nice flow.

Step 8
Sketch the position of the legs, following the curve.

Step 9
Add the joints, using the same size as before.

Step 10
Sketch the bottom of the hooves, using the size of the hooves you've drawn previously as a reference.

Step 11
Add the domes for the hooves.

Step 12
Finally, outline the legs.

Step 14
Bulls are known for their powerful musculature, so we need to make sure that the shoulder and the thigh are curved properly. To do this, add a few circles and ovals to them, suggesting the shapes of the muscles underneath.

Step 15
You can now outline the arm and the thigh.

4. How to Draw a Bull's Head: The Details
Step 1
Add a small oval slightly over the muzzle—this will be the eye area.

Step 2
Connect the muzzle oval to the rest of the shapes, to finish the shape of the head.

Step 3
Draw small ovals for the eye and the nose.

Step 4
Add a line for the mouth. You can curve it if you want your bull to smile!

Step 5
Add a circle in the upper area of the head, and then sketch two curves to create the horns.

Step 6
Add a smaller circle next to the base of the horns, to create the area for the ear.

Step 7
Sketch a simple ear now.

Step 8
Our bull is still missing a tail, so let's add it quickly now. Draw a simple curve in the back...

... then add the tip.

5. Finish the Bull Drawing
Step 1
Let's finish our drawing of a bull! You can now take a darker, thicker tool to make these last lines look more final. First, outline the details of the head, using the shapes below as a base.

Step 2
Outline the legs in the foreground, giving them appropriately muscular contours. If you want more detail, you can subtly accentuate the other shapes too.

Step 3
Outline the torso and the tail.

Step 4
Outline the pair of legs in the back now.

Step 5
To make the line art look more appealing, accentuate/darken the lines in a more variable way—keep the tips lighter and narrower, and thicken the lines in the area where they meet.

Step 6
Finally, you can erase/remove the sketch and accentuate some of the lines even more. This is especially important if you're drawing a bull logo design.

Good Job!
