Beluga, a crypto education platform started in 2024, has gotten over 50,000 people to subscribe to its newsletter and has given out 100,000 starter packs since coming out of the beta phase. The platform that offers free guides on how to adopt blockchain has partnered with Gemini, Aptos, Litecoin, Eclipse Labs, and Hemi Labs to expand its resource library. Beluga's tools include the Beluga Top 50, which is a weekly index of vetted token launches, and a public trading wallet that demonstrates real-time transactions. It has Starter Packs that provide step by step instructions on how to set up a wallet, stake and use decentralized applications.
\ The company reports 85,000 followers on X. The team includes Sonny Singh (ex-BitPay), Dan Yoo (ex-NerdWallet), Albert Lee (the founder of MyFitnessPal) and Vivek Patel (ex-Yelp CPO). Beluga's infrastructure is compatible with EVM chains and Solana and will extend support to TON and Bitcoin based protocols. Adoption and Partnerships More than 50 projects are using Beluga's tools, including Aptos-based decentralized applications, and Litecoin's NFT projects.
\ Gemini has integrated Beluga's guides into its onboarding flow, and Eclipse Labs uses the platform to help users learn about its rollup ecosystem. As a free service, Beluga works by partnerships not subscriptions or ads. This model is under a lot of analysis as regulators step up their demands on the crypto advertising. The SEC's recent actions against unregistered token platforms are a risk sign for educational content associated with particular assets.
\ The recent rise in crypto prices has once again made people concerned with educational resources, as Bitcoin is trading at $60,000 and political meme coins like $TRUMP are on the rise. Beluga's growth is in line with broader efforts to drive usage beyond pure speculation.
\ Beluga's testnet phase has reached 345,000 accounts and the mainnet launch is scheduled for Q4 2024. The team is focusing on integrations with political meme coins like $TRUMP and DAO governance tools.
