Why?
Because it’s a powerful model!
And?
Because it’s as good as OpenAI’s ChatGPT!
So what?
Because it… is… free!
Now we’re talking.
How to run DeepSeek locally on Google Colab
But we are not here to talk about politics or AI wars.
We are here to run and test the new DeepSeek R1 model.

The notebook is set to download and run the 7-billion-parameter version.
This is a lighter yet still very powerful model.
If you’re brave enough and have the time, replace “7b” with “32b” to test a more powerful version.
