What I Built
Inbox-as-Art is a creative email-driven application that turns everyday communication into AI-generated poetry, short stories, and visual artwork. It fuses the artistic potential of AI with the simplicity of voice input and the magic of email.
This project was built for the Postmark Inbox Innovators Challenge and leverages Postmark's email services for notifications, welcome emails, and device access alerts.
✨ Key Features
🔐 Signup & Login
Users can create an account or log in as a demo user to explore the platform.-
📩 Postmark-Driven Emails
- Welcome email on signup
- Alert email for new device login attempts
- Notifications for new artwork shared
🔔 Subscription System
Users can subscribe to receive new AI-generated poems, stories, and images via email.-
🧠 Generative AI Creativity
- Use voice or text to generate:
- A 2–4 line poem
- A short paragraph story
- An AI-generated image
- Created content is emailed to all subscribers.
🗣️ Voice Input (Web Speech API)
Users can speak their ideas, review the transcription, and submit — hands-free and intuitive.🖼️ Live Art Wall
Explore all generated content (text and images) in a beautiful, real-time public gallery.🛑 Unsubscribe Option
Subscribers can opt out easily from receiving future artworks.

How I Built It

- Gemini AI for poetry, story, and image prompts
- Voice transcription using Web Speech API

- Supabase, subscriptions, and artwork records
- Progressive storage for efficient data handling

Image Hosting:
- Vercel Blob for storing and retrieving generated AI artworks

Frontend:
- Next.js with TailwindCSS
- Real-time updates via polling for the art wall
