How we turned our idea into an interactive and intuitive user experience.

When we started building ITConnect, we didn’t just want a platform that works.
We wanted a platform that feels natural. Simple. Useful. And empowering — for both IT students and companies.

And that’s where design comes in.

From Idea to Interface
Before we wrote a single line of code, we spent days sketching, discussing, and brainstorming how the platform should look, feel, and flow.
We asked ourselves:

How can a student quickly find a job or a freelance project?
How can a company easily search through candidates?
How can communication happen without switching to other platforms?
To answer these, we opened Figma and began designing our first wireframes.

The Home Page: The First Impression
The Home Page is the face of ITConnect.

At the top, we placed a Hero Section with:

A bold statement of our mission
A search bar so companies and workers can immediately start looking
Just below it, we’ve added:

Testimonials from students who’ve found work and companies who’ve found talent — real success stories that build trust.

Two large cards/buttons:
➤ Register as a Company
➤ Register as a Worker
We want the user to know exactly where to go.

Company Dashboard — Smart, Searchable, Simple
For companies, we designed a dashboard that includes:

A search bar with filters by skills, location, experience, and programming languages
Ability to view student profiles and see detailed information (CV, experience, skills, short bio, profile picture)
Integration of calendar features — book a meeting or even share a Zoom/Google Meet link
Project board: Post freelance opportunities and receive direct applications
Business verification through domain and company registration number
Worker Dashboard — Build. Apply. Grow.
For students and young professionals:

A profile page that includes:
Name, email, city, short description, profile image
CV upload and skills tagging
A homepage with job cards, e.g.:
Software Developer opportunities
Network Engineer roles
Programming language-specific filters
The ability to apply to freelance projects posted by verified companies
Features for Both
We made sure both types of users get value:

“Recommended for You” section — suggestions based on activity and profile
Feedback system: companies can leave reviews for students and vice versa
Blog & Forum — for knowledge-sharing, tech discussions, and interview tips
Why Figma?
Figma allowed us to:

Collaborate in real-time, no matter where we were
Test different UX flows quickly
Share designs with mentors, developers, and potential users for feedback
We created multiple prototypes, starting from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity mockups. Each iteration brought us closer to something clean, simple, and scalable.

What’s Next?
Our designs in Figma are now the blueprint for development.
We’re moving into coding the front-end and connecting everything to the backend.

But Figma isn’t done yet — as we grow, we’ll keep testing, adjusting, and iterating our UI based on real user feedback.
