I Built a CLI Tool to Fix Claude's Context Loss Problem – Meet Context Forge 🛠️🐉
If you’ve ever used Claude or any AI-assisted dev tool for more than 30 minutes, you’ve probably hit that moment—when your assistant forgets key instructions halfway through a task. Context loss during compaction is real. And if you’re working on large features or multi-step reasoning, it kills momentum.
🔨 So I built Context Forge – a CLI toolkit for AI context engineering.
Context Forge helps you structure, version, and reinject scoped context into your AI workflows. It’s designed for Claude Code but supports any tool where prompt consistency matters.
What It Does
- 📄 Creates a
CLAUDE.mdto define coding standards, style guides, and prompt rules - 📦 Scaffolds PRP files (Product Requirements Prompts) that bundle reasoning, validation gates, and scope
- 🧠 Integrates with Claude Code’s new
preCompacthook via my companion project, Claude Hooks Manager - 🔁 Supports reinjection of context across AI IDEs like Cursor, Copilot, and more

This setup has saved me hours of backtracking and context resets. It lets AI think more like a dev partner and less like a forgetful intern.
