Khu éex’ – “Bloodsucker” Live on KEXP
KEXP welcomed Seattle-based collective Khu éex’ into their studio on June 12, 2025, for a fiery live take on “Bloodsucker.” The band’s driving lineup—Preston Singletary on bass, Captain Raab on guitar and vocals, Sondra Segundo on rattles, Gene Tagaban on hand drum and Native flute, Edward Littlefield on trap drums, Tim Kennedy on keys, Denny Stern on percussion, plus brass textures from Jason Cressey (trombone), Gordon Brown (sax) and Kate Olsen (baritone sax)—creates an electrifying fusion of rock, flute melodies and tribal rhythms.
Behind the scenes, host Tory Johnston kept the flow tight while Kevin Suggs engineered the audio and Matt Ogaz mastered it. Five camera operators (Jim Beckmann, Carlos Cruz, Leah Franks, Luke Knecht & Kendall Rock) captured every angle, with Jim Beckmann on the edit. Check out the full session at kexp.org or khueex.com, and join their YouTube channel for exclusive perks.
