Hi everyone!
So, what brings me here? My name is Leo, and I’m currently working a blue-collar job while pursuing a career change into web development. I started this journey last winter with The Odin Project, and at first, I was thrilled. HTML and CSS felt natural and fun—I breezed through them.
Then came JavaScript… and that’s where things got challenging. At first, I was making progress—learning functions, using the console, and understanding the basics. But when I got to arrays and their methods, I made the mistake of obsessing over every single one. I ended up doing 15 exercises a day (thanks to ChatGPT), and eventually, I burned myself out.
After taking a break, I decided to start fresh, this time with Codecademy for a different perspective. I didn’t want to redo The Odin Project because I felt I had forgotten a lot and needed a structured restart.
I just finished a basic HTML and CSS project—nothing fancy yet, no Flexbox or Grid for now. I’d love for you all to take a look and share your thoughts:
How can I write cleaner code?
Where could I have taken a different approach?
This is just the beginning of a bigger project—I plan to keep building on it little by little. For now, I wanted to keep it simple and avoid burning out again.
Thank you so much for your time and feedback!
