About six months ago, my team and I launched ClassAssists. Since then, we’ve learned a lot—about the gaps in education that still need to be filled, about the different kinds of learners who use our platform, and about how best we can serve them.
It quickly became clear that we needed to build a different kind of product. One that goes beyond traditional study methods and gives every student the tools to truly personalize their learning.
What makes PrepIQ different?
ClassAssists turns your own study materials into an AI-powered learning companion with three core features:
- ChatNote – Upload your notes and chat with them. Ask questions, highlight tricky parts, and get instant explanations that deepen your understanding.
- Upload & Generate – Take any note or course material and automatically generate MCQs, essay questions, and summaries for practice and revision.
- Solver – Snap or upload a mathematical problem, and watch it get solved instantly with clear step-by-step explanations.
Why does this matter?
Education is one of the largest and most influential industries in the world, with over 20% of the global population being students. Yet the system is still modeled after the industrial revolution—standardized, one-size-fits-all learning. This leaves students struggling with three major pains:
- Lack of personalized study paths
- Limited access to on-demand help
- Inefficient exam preparation methods
ClassAssists changes that. By turning course materials into interactive, personalized study tools, we empower students to learn smarter, prepare better, and achieve more.
Our Next Step
Now, ClassAssists is no longer just an experiment—it’s a product that embodies all the above goodies with one major difference: it puts students in full control of their learning.
We’re building not just another study app, but a platform that adapts to each learner, making education accessible, engaging, and effective for students everywhere.
It’s been a long, challenging road for my amazing team and I, but we know this is just the beginning. ClassAssists is only the first step in reimagining how students across Africa—and beyond—can learn with AI.
