Opera Neon has been out in early access for less than a month now and we’ve been busy bringing updates and integrating the best models out there for you to use in the browser. After adding Open AI’s SORA 2, Google’s Nano Banana, and announcing the Opera Deep Research Agent (ODRA), today we’re adding Google’s Veo 3.1 video generation model.
Our goal here is to bring you the best models and AI agents out there – all within one app – so that you can integrate them in your creative projects, your workflow, and also have fun with them. With Opera Neon, there’s no need to use several subscriptions or services to access them all.
We’re able to swiftly add models like Veo 3.1 into Opera Neon thanks to the Opera AI engine, which we designed to be model-agnostic and to allow us to add as many tools and agents as we want into Opera Neon. Oour AI engine allows us to make these updates mere days after the APIs are publicly released.
Using Veo 3.1 in Opera Neon
To use Veo 3.1 in Opera Neon simply go to Neon Make and type in your prompt requesting a video generation, making sure you add “use Veo” or “use Google” in it. Opera Neon will use that specific model to generate a video for you.
For example, check this out:
Another example of something slightly simpler could start with the following prompt:
- “Create a video in which the robot standing under the falling paper sheets stares at them, and then does a little dance before sitting down peacefully. Add classical music in the background. Use Veo”
We attached these two images for it to work with:

And this is the result:
Different video generation models give you different creative opportunities. Some of the strengths of Veo 3.1 are its richer built-in audio, the use of multiple reference images as frames of the video, and the precise control it provides over the high-quality output. Choose this model if you want short, polished videos that look professional and are easy to control from single prompts.
For example, Veo 3.1 can generate videos based on two images that you attach to it (first and last frame). So, the best way to use it is to give it two images and then explain in your prompt what you want to happen in between them – like in the example above. However, you don’t have to attach two images, it can be only one, or none at all.
You can also use SORA 2
If what you’re looking for is a model that’ll help you create longer, more realistic and cinematic videos, then you’ll probably be better off using SORA 2. This is a model that’s particularly strong at realism and physics, good for “cinematic” or motion-heavy scenes, and workflows where audio and motion realism are essential.
If you want to generate a video using specifically SORA 2, you simply need to specify it in your prompt – for instance, saying “use sora”.
Here’s an example:
- “Generate a video in which the robots that are shown in the image that I’m attaching are all typing in their computers and then they all lift their heads at the same time and look at the camera, and give a thumbs up. Use SORA.”
We attached this image:

And this is the result:
Sora 2 allows you to attach up to one image to work with; it can also create longer videos than Veo 3.1 so consider that when generating your video. Your choice of model should be based on the project you’re working on.
What’s important is that you can get access to both of them directly from Opera Neon under a single subscription – where you get access to several models, AI agents and tools, as well as a browser crafted by the expertise of people who’ve been at it for over 30 years.
Availability of Veo 3.1
Veo 3.1 is available for all Opera Neon users that have gotten access to the Founders program. If you want to try Opera Neon out, head to https://www.operaneon.com and join the waitlist to get early access.
