These days, you see all sorts of posts telling devs they need a 'content strategy.' Like, seriously? As if devs have time for that. I mean, we're already juggling way too many things - try managing a codebase, fighting GitHub's UI, and dealing with algorithm-driven visibility.

wait, where was i going with this?

Oh yeah! So people say, 'Hey devs, you gotta create content to grow your audience.' But, be real here: most devs aren't exactly social media influencers. Like, our idea of 'content' is usually a bunch of debug logs.

and yeah thats basically it.

The GitHub Algorithm Problem

Here's the thing, though: even if developers wanted to create content, GitHub's algorithm makes it super hard to get seen. It's like they're actively hiding our repos from potential users.

I mean, how many of you have been tryna be all proud of your new commit and then... crickets?

,' you thought you posted something interesting, but Oprah would be like, 'Nobody knows Oprah Oprah Oprah, Oprah Oprah, you be bored!'

So yeah, Oprah be bored because GitHub's algo be broken.

What Developers Really Need

truth is, we don't need 'content strategies.' We need tools that help us turn our actual work - the code, the commits, the issues, and the updates - into engaging content that resonates with our audience.

btw, if you're done wasting time on manual posting, Push to Draft literally automates this whole thing: https://commit.jolexhive.com/

let's not pretend like we have the bandwidth for 'content creation.' We're devs, not influencers!

At least, that's what I think...

and thats the tea,
