Circles Around the Sun & Mikaela Davis took over KEXP’s studio on August 21, 2025, laying down three dreamy instrumentals—“Hot Pursuit,” “After Sunrise” and “Moonbow.” Backed by Dan Horne (bass), Mark Levyz (drums), Adam MacDougall (keys) and John Lee Shannon (guitar), Mikaela Davis added ethereal harp and vocals under the watchful ear of host Troy Nelson.
Behind the scenes, Kevin Suggs engineered the audio, Dan Horne mixed it, and Matt Ogaz mastered the session. Cameras by Jim Beckmann, Carlos Cruz, Scott Holpainen, Jonathan Jacobson and Luke Knecht captured every note, with Beckmann also handling the edit.
