Change the default voice to “Siri Voice 1” in System Settings – then your say MacOS command will sound more appealing (less robotic).

Open System Settings
Search for “Voice Live Speach”:

Change the default voice to "Siri Voice 1" in System Settings - then your say MacOS command will sound more appealing (less robotic).

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Search for "Voice Live Speach":
  3. Click the ℹ️ icon near "System Voice":
  4. Click the arrow ➡️ near "Voice" in the new window:
  5. Search for "Siri":
  6. And click the download icon 🌩️ near the Voice 1 (IMHO the best, feel free to choose your preferred one)
  7. Click the arrow back ⬅️ in the top:
  8. Then click "Done" in the bottom corner:

That's it 😉

Try it out in your terminal:

say 'Build completed'
