The May update of JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion 2026 is now available, offering new functionality and enhancements that increase efficiency and productivity. Here’s a look at four enhancements.
JAWS Page Explorer is Now Available to Home Annual Users
Page Explorer, accessed with INSERT+SHIFT+E, is an extension of Vispero Companion that quickly summarizes a web page, highlights important content and links, and provides helpful navigation tips so you can find what you need faster. This feature is now available to Home Annual users. In addition, Home users are no longer limited to 20 requests per week.
This means you can take advantage of Page Explorer to access detailed web page information when you need it most.
Age Restrictions for AI Features
To help ensure a safe and age-appropriate experience for all users, JAWS AI features, Picture Smart, Vispero Companion, and Page Explorer, now adapt based on the age set in your Vispero account.
For users 18 and older, there is no change to how these features work.
For younger users, the following adjustments apply:
- Under 13 – Images are described with stricter safety limits, chat is not available, and no access to Vispero Companion or Page Explorer
- Ages 13 to 17 – Images are described with safety limits in place, and chat is available with those same restrictions applied to responses
These adjustments help ensure a safer and more appropriate experience for younger users and align with industry best practices for AI features.
Refer to this Blog post for additional details on verifying the correct age is set in your Vispero account.
ZoomText Visual Refresh
ZoomText has a fresh, new look. The desktop icon now features a brighter green background with a white “Z,” and updated graphics appear throughout the application, including the Startup Wizard. This refresh makes it easier to locate the ZoomText icon on the desktop.
The refreshed design also aligns ZoomText with the updated branding used across JAWS and Fusion, creating a more consistent and recognizable experience across the Vispero product family.
Improved Windows 11 Compatibility and Performance in ZoomText and Fusion
We continue to enhance ZoomText to keep pace with the latest Windows 11 updates (version 24H2 and later) and modern graphics technology. As part of this effort, ZoomText now uses an updated display adapter, which helps reduce issues like black screens and delivers a more consistent and reliable viewing experience, especially on newer computers.
Everything works automatically, so there is nothing to set up.
